Just Plain Cute!

I have been looking for the "perfect" sun hat for Henderson. I needed one with a strap since he has taken to pulling hats off his head no matter how many times I put it back on. I found this one on etsy. LOVE IT!

He tried to pull it off a few times, but when he realized it wasn't coming off, he forgot about it.

Flash Face

As soon as I pull out the camera (it doesn't even have to be turned on), Henderson starts his "flash face." He squints like he is about to be blinded by the ever annoying flash. It is pretty funny to watch.

I threw this one in at the end because it is a pretty good shot of his two teeth that have come in on the bottom.

You've Got Mail

Thank you Aunt Pat and Uncle Matt for the Easter card!

My What Blue Eyes You Have...

I never, in a million years, would have guessed that Henderson's eyes would be blue. I hear that a baby's eye color can change past 6 months, but it looks to me his color is here to stay. My dad has blue eyes and Henderson's look to be about the same color of blue. I wont get into all the family members that have blue eyes, but the recessive genes are definitely there. I just figured since both Stephen and I have brown that Henderson would too. All I can say is that babies are truly miracles.

Babypalooza

I will spare those who don't want to see a million pictures of the same thing. But in case you want to take a peek...

I have posted the picture that I took from the weekend on my Picasa page.

I am hoping Anna Cate and Ashley will post some soon

Thank you Ashley and Anna Cate for making the long drive from Birmingham to see us! I had a wonderful time and miss you guys so much. I hope it wont be too long before we do it again.

Missing in Action...

I think we only had one casualty over the weekend. Poor Sophie was lost!
Update: Sophie has been located at Chick-fil-a! She is waiting for me to pick her up.

Learning about a thing or two...

Henderson's friends taught him about a few new things this weekend.
For any mother who is interested, they sell these things at Wal-Mart. They are called Baby Mum-Mums. They dissolve really easily and are similar to a teething biscuit without the huge mess. Henderson loves them and they entertain him for at least 10 minutes.
He likes these yogurt melts too. They are a bit tart to him and he gives the funniest "tart" face when he eats them, but he seems to really like them. These also dissolve really fast.

And last but certainly not least... Puffs! I have been thinking of trying them, but just wasn't sure if he was ready (Gerber says "crawler stage" but don't let that totally fool you if you think your child might be ready). Sydney seemed to love them, so we tried them out. He of course LOVES them and they are so entertaining. About 5 of these things got us through a meal at Chick-fil-a. I was really impressed at how well Henderson can pick these up and put them in his mouth. He can also chew really well which convinced me that these would be safe for him.

What took you so long mom? These things are great! Thanks for the heads up Ashley!

Just a Little Preview...

I can see this picture showing up again in the future... Perhaps at a rehearsal dinner?
Anna Cate, Caroline, Ashley, and Sydney came to visit us in Valdosta this weekend. It was so much fun. There were MANY pictures taken so I will post more soon. Just a little too tired right now.

We miss you already!

Henderson and I made it to West Point on Wednesday without stopping! He was such a trooper in the car. The weather was awful so it was a good thing we didn't have to stop. After eating lunch in West Point, I headed to Atlanta. It was so great to see Lauren (aka Coffey) and Mark! They were so nice to let me stay with them. We were able to have dinner with Rob on Wednesday night. (So good to see you Rob!) The speech conference was fine. This wasn't the best year in terms of the program, but is was so good to see all of my old work friends and grad school friends. I was also able to catch up with my friend Stefani and meet her adorable little boy Declan on Thursday. (Link to her blog is "Wood's World"). Friday after the conference, I was on 285 for an hour of course. It was frustrating because I was so ready to get back to West Point to see Henderson. From what I hear, he had a GREAT time while I was gone. He got to spend some quality time with the whole Huguley family. Thank you everyone (especially Nannie) for taking such great care of our Bundle!
Dad took a few pictures while Henderson was in West Point. When I first looked at the picture below, I couldn't believe what a "big boy" he looks like.

Poor Stephen didn't even get to enjoy his weekend. He was sick the whole time we were gone. I am so glad that he is feeling better now. We were really happy to see him today when we got back!

8 months old today!

I just had to point out that Henderson is 8 months old today. As I say all the time - I can't believe it! In celebration of his 8 month b-day, he got 2 teeth! He is sprouting his first teeth and they are starting to break through.

I am headed to Atlanta on Wednesday for a continuing education conference. Henderson and I will set out for West Point on Wednesday morning. Henderson is staying with Nannie and Granddaddy. I will be in Atlanta (thank you Lindenbaum's for letting me stay!) until late afternoon on Friday and then will head back to West Point to stay for the weekend. What will Stephen do with all of this "free time?!"

First Swim!

On Saturday, Stephen and I took Henderson over to Honey and Grandpa's house for his first swim. I have been dying to get him in the water so as soon as we got some nice weather, we went for it! Honey and Grandpa have a hot tub attached to the pool. It is a perfect "kiddie pool!" They are able to heat the water up to any temperature that they want it. We heated it up so that it felt like bath water. It was a lot of fun. Henderson really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the summer!

Henderson is ready to get in the hot tub. He is sporting the "Lincoln wardrobe" for hot tubbing - his robe and slippers. Thank you Aunt Pat and Uncle Matt for helping the littlest Lincoln to be dressed appropriately.
He loves these bath squirties!

Mommy braved getting into a bathing suit. Anything for the baby...

Love This Weather!

We have really been enjoying the nice weather we have had lately. We have been spending a lot of time outside!

I think this picture is so adorable. Henderson LOVES his doggie!

Yes, Mommy is trying to squeeze the life out of his Christmas onesie.

Just Some Video

I haven't posted video in a while so here ya go...
Our sweet little boy is growing up so fast. He wants to crawl so bad and just today he was doing a little of the backward crawl action. (Sorry, this video doesn't show that.) This video does show some cute little laughs and then ends with that extremely annoying grunt sound that he makes when he wants something (usually to be able to move). I know I am not looking forward to him crawling everywhere, but I will be glad when he doesn't make that noise.

Stay tuned for some more video. Henderson had his first "swim" today! I will share more soon!

Double Good News!

I got the best news this week! My friend Maggie is expecting TWINS! I am still in shock, although I guess I always knew it could be a possibility that she could have twins (her dad is a twin). I just had to post this news because it is so exciting! (I did check with her to make sure it was ok to share!)

Here is Maggie with her son John (3) and Henderson this past August. (For those that don't know Maggie, she is my friend who's mom owns Two Smart Cookies in Savannah.) CONGRATS to Maggie and Jay (and John too of course!)
PS. Maggie and Jay are not going to find out the sex of the babies. They love to torture me.

Who would have ever thought...?

I am not a morning person. This is a fact. As I type this, I think about the many mornings when I was in graduate school and Staci and I would make the commute to Montevallo (from B'ham) and not talk to each other the whole 40 min ride. I also think about the mornings when I had to be in Duluth at 7 am for IEP meetings. I seriously don't know how I did it. I hear that opposites attract and this must be true, because Stephen is one of those people that wakes up singing. He pops out of bed in a good mood. Why am I sharing this? I'll have to say that over the past few months, morning has become my absolute favorite time of the day! We have this routine where as soon as Henderson wakes up, one of us goes to get him up out of bed. He then joins us in our bed where he drinks his bottle (see below). I spend that time snuggled up to him. Stephen and I talk to Henderson (or we fall back asleep for a few minutes). This is one of those small moments during the day that I savor. My whole family (including the dog) is together, quiet, in the bed first thing and we have a minute to just relax before the craziness begins. We also travel with this routine. Henderson, Hendrix, and I have been known to show up in my parents' room in West Point when Stephen is out hunting. Good thing they have a king.

I also forgot to mention that Henderson can hold his own bottle. He has been doing this for a while now. This skill is a good one!

Well Computer

We have our computer back. It now has a new hard drive since ours apparently crashed. We were lucky enough to have saved all of our important things onto our external hard drive so nothing was lost. The people who fixed it also recovered many of our files. This isn't the first time we have had this computer in the shop, so we are annoyed. I hear Windows 7 is pretty good (we have Vista). I still want a Mac. Anyway... blog updates to come soon!

Sick Computer

It may be a while before I post again. Our computer is sick and is "at the shop". Stephen says if anything else happens with our computer then we are getting a Mac. I secretly hope it blows up.
