He is FOUR!

I'm kinda having trouble with the fact that my sweet baby is no longer a baby. He is such a big boy. He is thrilled that he is finally four. (He has been trying to convince everyone that he has been 4 for months).
We have celebrated and celebrated... started with a birthday party a few weeks before his birthday. We had a party early since his birthday falls around the fourth of July and people are usually out of town. We then celebrated with Frank when we were at the lake for the 4th. Frank turned 4 two weeks before Henderson. On Monday (his actual birthday), we had lunch with friends and dinner with family. Great day!

I am so proud of this guy. He truly brings so much joy to our family. I thank God every single day that he blessed me with this special child. I just wish time would slow down a bit!

SUMMER is here!

We have had lots of fun things going on this spring, including Henderson's t-ball. Stephen was the team coach this time and he did an awesome job of teaching three and four year olds! I was proud of Stephen and Henderson! Henderson wrapped up his three year old preschool year with a fun pool party. I have LOVED watching him learn and grow this year. His teachers were fabulous and helped teach him so much about God's love through scripture. I feel so blessed to be able to send him to a preschool where God is the center of his learning. Another big thing he learned to do this year was write his name - and with 9 letters to get down, I'll say that is pretty impressive for a three year old.
Last week, Henderson took swimming lessons with three other little boys from Coach Tucker (apparently this man has been teaching swimming for a long time and even taught some of Stephen's buddies to swim back in the day). This man knows what he is doing and is pretty much a no nonsense kind of guy. He was not even phased by the screaming and crying that took place. By the 2nd day, Henderson got a lot more comfortable and by the 4th day the child was swimming like a fish. I kid you not folks, my three year old is SWIMMING!

David continues to be a ball of energy. He only stops to sleep or if he is watching a TV show. He will start a 2 year old class at our church (where Henderson goes) this fall. He will be going three days a week to his class and to mother's morning out (which he goes to now) the other 2 days. I can't believe he will be going 5 days in the fall. Since he will be going to school more, I will also be working more which is great for our family. I need to get swimming lessons for David because he loves the water and is not afraid to jump in or go under. He is wearing floaties (aka swimmies, water wings) and does well with them, but maybe if he had some lessons with Coach Tucker? Hummm, I've got to check and see if the man takes 2 year olds.

This past weekend we got to spend some time with my family at the lake - Lake Harding (or the Backwater for all my Valley peeps). It was a blast! I also got to see my dear friends Brett and Jessica Jones. I haven't seen them in WAY too long (we are talking years) and it was so great to catch up.
The above picture is from the lake. Can you believe how big everyone is? I mean Jack will be 12 in August!

I hope everyone has a great summer. We have lots of fun things planned and I'm enjoying every minute with my sweet boys!

Easter 2013

The family picture was pretty much impossible this year, but wanted to share...
How cute are those boys?!?!

This was the first time that Henderson has ever worn a coat and tie. (I may have teared up a bit when I realized just how big he looked!)

Happy Birthday to our David doodle!

My sweet baby David turned two on April 3. I know I say this all the time about my children, but I simply can't imagine life without him. God has blessed our family so much with the addition of this little boy. He brings a special ray of sunshine to us everyday. David has certainly entered into the twos and I find my once  laid back child throwing the biggest fits because he doesn't want you to help, or he wants to watch "Buzz" RIGHT NOW, or he wants to leap into the pool, or you gave him milk instead of juice...

Even though this stage can be a challenge at times, I have really tried to savor this stage. He has a great personality and can really be a ham when he is given the chance to be center stage. He is SUPER busy and when I say he is into EVERYTHING, I am not kidding. He does things that his brother never even thought about. Yep, this little dude keeps me on my toes and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Happy birthday Doodle doo - YOU ARE AWESOME!

Many thanks to my dad for taking tons of wonderful pictures. I couldn't even narrow it down so I just threw in a few that I had saved...

Happy Easter!

What a wonderful weekend! We went ahead and celebrated David's 2nd birthday this weekend with family (his actual day is Wednesday). The weather was perfect. My parents came into town on Wednesday and as always it was so fun having them here. My dad took tons of pictures so I am hoping that I will get some posted soon. Until then... Happy Easter! I'm leaving you with the chorus to one of my very favorite hymns...

Up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Success!

I am thrilled that we signed Henderson up for soccer this year. He truly loved it. I was impressed by how hard he hustled out on the field. He loved making new friends too! Now on to t-ball:-)

...and Beyond!

Yesterday David found a new spaceship for Buzz. That would happen to be the bottom rack of our dishwasher. I seriously can't take my eyes off this kid.

Still blogging...

I know it has been a while, but we are still here!! We had a great Christmas. There are so many pictures I want to post - Henderson's Christmas program and other pictures from the holidays. Maybe one day I'll get to it! Until then, here is a cute picture of my sweet boys that I took yesterday.

Soccer Star

Henderson has started soccer and he loves it. It is so fun to watch all of these adorable children out there running around!

I use my phone...

I am so bad about pictures but I do catch some of the boys silliness with my phone camera...

Playing "Where's David?" Over and over and over...

...and over!

Henderson enjoyed my chocolate birthday cupcakes that my sweet friend Sarah gave us!

All ready to go and meet Santa! Two seconds later he climbed up on the table, grabbed an open can of Coke, and poured it all over himself.

Meeting Spider-man!

On November 17, Stephen and I took the boys to the Valdosta Jr. Service League's annual character breakfast. They had so much fun meeting different characters. The high for Henderson was getting to meet Spider-man (he keeps calling him the "Big Spider-man"). David is really into Toy Story and he was thrilled to see Woody and Buzz! Trying to get David to stay still for a picture was impossible. My friend Jennifer tried to help me out in one of the above pictures with Woody. There was just too much for him to check out. They had a blast!

Gobble Gobble it Up!

A very sweet mom of a child I see for therapy made these turkey cookies for the boys. Look how cute! (Both the cookie and little boy!)

Happy Halloween

We didn't do so well getting pictures this year. I am going to blame it on the fact that the stomach virus tore through the Lincoln house last week. David started us off last Tuesday, followed by Mommy on Thursday, Henderson on Friday, and just when Daddy thought he was in the clear, he got it Monday. The poor boys are still experiencing some not so pleasant side effects. I actually did prepare a real meal tonight. It was a nice change from crackers, applesauce, bananas, and Gatorade! Anyway, the boys had a great time on Halloween. David was a little baffled as to why we knocked on all those doors and never actually got to go in the houses, but he had a blast trying to keep up with Henderson.

Pumpkin Patch

It's hard to believe that it is that time of year again... The Pumpkin Patch has arrived at our church. My dad is my usual photographer so excuse my poor photos. I don't know how he does it. I am hoping maybe he will get over here in October so we can go back and get some decent shots! Henderson was on a serious hunt for the "perfect pumpkin" (just like in his book The Pumpkin Patch).
David thought the pumpkins were great for climbing.

David found a lot of pumpkins he wanted to take home!

This was the best I could do of trying to get a shot of them together.

I have managed to get a picture of Henderson in front of this sign each year. David refused to stand still so I may have to go back and try again!

David came up to me and said "cheese" then ran off laughing.

Henderson says "I found the perfect pumpkin!"

I wonder how many times I can climb on all these pumpkins before mom stops me.

Labor Day Weekend

We went to West Point for the long weekend. We had a great time despite the fact that David came down with a fever late Saturday. (We are cursed when traveling. Seriously.) Saturday morning, we went to Callaway Gardens with the Browns to ride bikes and have a picnic. They were having a hot air balloon event. Henderson went on a ride in the balloon with Stephen, Mary Beth, and Uncle Carter. He wasn't scared at all. He just kept his ears covered because it got loud when they did the flame thing to warm to air. (FYI: the balloon was tethered to the ground so they just went up and down).

This isn't actually from his first haircut (this is #2) but too cute not to share.

A Big Day for our Big Boy!

Henderson started his first day of 3 year old preschool today. He is going to our church (Park Avenue United Methodist) this year and will be going five days a week. He said he had a great, fun time today and was excited about going back tomorrow.

First day of three year old preschool - so excited!

I had to add this picture so you could see how much this baby has grown up in one year!!

First day of two year old preschool - wow he looks so tiny!
