Happy Birthday Brad! Your Birthday is Today!

I am sure my family remembers the song that went with this title on the blog post. When we were young, Brad had a record (yes, a record) that had this birthday song. It was super cheesy and easily gets stuck in your head. I am sure my family can't help but sing it every March 24th! Anyway, I do want to wish my big brother a happy birthday today. It also happens to be his 2nd wedding anniversary too. He is currently relaxing at the beach so I am sure he is in for a good day.

We are most likely going to be celebrating another birthday today too! I got a text message this morning from Elizabeth saying that she was at the hospital and it was looking like Emmett was ready to make an appearance! I am seriously dying to hear something soon!!

A Very Guilty Pleasure

I have a serious pregnancy sweet tooth. Sweets are really the only thing that I crave. I could skip a whole meal and just eat dessert. Don't get me wrong, If you know me, you know that I have always liked pretty much anything with sugar. (Just ask Brad, I would always eat all of my Easter candy and then his). I have never had a problem like I do now, so I am just going to blame it on being pregnant (pretty much like I have been doing with everything else). Anyway, brownies have been a particular weakness. I told Stephen I wouldn't buy any more (since he told me he feels like HE is putting on pregnancy weight), but he was the one who pointed this box out to me in the store. I mean DARK chocolate WITH chocolate chips in the batter?!! YES PLEASE! I made them them this weekend and they were AWESOME! This is by far the best brownie mix I have ever had! They are also great with vanilla ice cream (not that I know from experience or anything).

Congratulations are in order!!

Yesterday, was "Match Day" for those in medical school. Elizabeth and Ashley both found out where their husbands would be going for their residency programs. The whole process is a little crazy to me. It starts with getting interviews at different schools applied to and then ranking them. The schools also do a ranking. As Elizabeth pointed out to me, the whole thing is a little like sorority rush. Anyway, yesterday was the big day. Ashley and Whitney already live in Birmingham and were hoping that Whitney would match with his top choice of UAB...well he DID! They will get to stay put there for the next few years. Thomas and Elizabeth currently live in Macon. They knew that they were not staying there but of course weren't exactly sure where they would be going (mind you Elizabeth's baby Emmett is due in about 2 weeks!) They were also hoping Thomas would match with his top choice of UAB in Birmingham...well he DID TOO!
I am so excited for both families!
Since Ashley and Whitney's baby is due in July, Blake and Marty's baby is due in July, and Anna Cate and Matt's is due in August, they will have an instant B'ham playgroup!!!

Good Report

I went to the doctor today for my monthly visit and all is going well! I got to hear the heartbeat again and it sounded very strong! I have packed on a few more pounds which I was sure I had... I have all of a sudden just "popped!" We wont be having another ultrasound until May which is kind of disappointing, but I am already looking forward to it! The "quad screen" which is the test for Down Syndrome and neural tube defects came back normal. Praise God! Thank you to everyone who continually prays for us!

SNOW!

Stephen and went to West Point this past weekend. On Sunday we walked out of church to complete snow white out! It was crazy! We weren't sure if we would even be able to get out of the parking lot. (Of course we had driven my car and not Stephen's truck). We were able to get some fun time playing in the snow before attempting to return to Valdosta. We weren't sure if we would be able to get back, but once we got past Columbus there was no snow. We were kind of sad that Valdosta didn't get snow. (Sorry to all of those who deal with the snow on a daily basis! I certainly couldn't take more than a day or two!)
Brad and Katrina
snowman that I made... I borrowed a few things from Mary Beth's Mr. Potato Head.

Stephen and me

Hendrix LOVES snow. Here he is frolicking. He had the best time playing in the snow with his brother Jake. They both spent a lot of the time trying to eat it!

Doesn't really look like we are in West Point!

Happy Birthday Carter!

We celebrated Carter's b-day this weekend! He looks young for 40 doesn't he.... ? HA, just kidding Carter! Happy 36th!
