Henderson is crawling more and more!!! This is so exciting and a little scary. We have got to childproof!

Hello My Name is Henderson No-No!

Poor Henderson hears no-no a lot. He totally has the head shake thing down with it too. We have had so many instances of him grabbing handfuls of grass and trying to shove them into his mouth. He can't hardly touch the grass now without shaking his head. With the crawling in place, I am sure he will be hearing those words even more.

9 month stats

We had a very successful trip to the doctor this morning! It really helped that they were not busy today so we got to go right on back! Henderson weighed 21 lbs 9 oz (65th percentile) and I don't remember the exact length measurement but he was in the 80th percentile for height! Dr. says Henderson is right on track and doing great. We will start feeding more table foods now and will switch to whole milk when he is in his 11th month. He did have to get his finger pricked to test his hemoglobin (which was normal) and he didn't even cry. He was way more fascinated with the band aid that they put on his finger.

Hummm, what else can I share? I love reading about other babies on my friends' blogs and find it interesting when they share little details. Let's see... Henderson is still wearing size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes. He continues to be an awesome sleeper and has been since around 12 weeks old (still 7 pm-7 am). He does (very rarely) wake up at some point at night but can almost always get himself back to sleep. He can now get from a lying down position to sitting. This makes for an interesting nap time. He will usually play around in his crib for a good 15 minutes before crashing. We are still working on the sippy cup. He thinks it is something fun to play with and chew on. He loves to stand and hold onto the furniture (he can't pull himself up yet, but is getting close). He continues to think the dog is the funniest thing around. He will still eat pretty much anything that is offered to him. He also continues to be the best thing that has ever happened to his daddy and me! Best baby ever!

We have a crawler!

Henderson turned 9 months old on Thursday! My parents came into town to keep him for the weekend while Stephen and I headed to Charleston for Walton and Jenni's wedding. Apparently they gave him some great crawling instruction because when we got home, we witnessed him crawling!! I have been trying to capture it on video, but of course he wont do it when I get the video camera out. He isn't crawling everywhere just yet, but he can go about 4 or so paces. He then gets close to what he is trying to get to, falls onto his belly and stretches the rest of the way in order to grab the object. One of my goals this week it to catch him in the act (on video) so that I can post it.

We had a great time in Charleston. The weekend was beautiful! One major highlight was that I got to get together for lunch with my buddies Lindsay and Lauren (aka Coffey). Lindsay lives in Charleston and was married there back in November (see the November post for pics from her wedding). Coffey's husband Mark was in another wedding in Charleston that just so happened to fall on the same weekend as Walton's, so it worked out great! I wish I had remembered to bring my camera so that I actually could post some pictures, but oh well.

Henderson and I go to his 9 month doctor's appointment tomorrow morning (NO SHOTS!!! THANK GOODNESS!) so I will have some stats to post... stay tuned.

Frank: Hey, Henderson! I saw those two teeth that you have growing in. Do you see anything in my mouth?

Henderson: Ummm, lets see... nope.

Frank: No really, I think something is coming in. Look again!

Henderson: No, man I don't see anything.

Frank: No, look closer! I swear there are teeth coming in. I have been drooling like crazy!

Easter Weekend

We headed to West Point for Easter. On Saturday, my parents hosted the church Easter egg hunt. It was such a fun filled weekend.
