Worn Out!

Both of my boys are completely worn out from a fun weekend in West Point! Things started off on Friday as we celebrated my mom and dad's 40th wedding anniversary! We got a baby sitter and went to an adult only dinner with the family. Poor Henderson was (and still is) suffering from a pretty bad cough, but he has been such a trooper.

On Saturday, we took it easy since the weather was rainy and cold. The kids were able to get in a lot of play time. We exchanged gifts and had a big Christmas dinner. As previously mentioned, this is the first year EVER that I will be away from "home" on Christmas. It is the weirdest feeling. I can't really talk about it much (I am a hormonal pregnant woman for goodness sake). We are trying to start swapping out years where we do Christmas day, so that we are able to spend family Christmas time with the Lincolns too! I am looking forward to getting to spend Christmas in my own home, but at the same time, change is very hard for me. Ok, moving on...

Henderson did go to the doctor today. I will have you know that my wonderful husband agreed to take him to his appointment. I had the same cold that Henderson has had, but I am finally on the mend. Stephen is starting to come down with it now. He spared me picking up any other germs at the pediatrician's office. Anyway, Henderson is now on 3 different meds. We had to break out the old aerochamber with the albuterol. He is also taking a steroid and some sort of antibiotic. Trying to get him to take these things is very hard, but I am so glad he will be getting some relief!!

Dance, Dance, Dance

A little background on this video: We went to West Point this past weekend to have our Christmas celebration with my family (this is the first time in all my 32 years that I wont be in West Point for Christmas...more on that later). My parents gave Henderson a sand/water table for Christmas. We didn't get it out of the box or anything so that it could be easily transported back to Valdosta. This was a good move because I think the box was the biggest hit of the weekend. The kids (mainly Henderson) used the thing like a stage, a table, a trampoline, etc.
Mary Beth is a source of constant entertainment. Whenever we are in town, she hosts "Mary Beth's Nursery School" and plays with Henderson for hours. He is mesmerized. She told us that the nursery school was closed for the holiday break, but apparently she opened Mary Beth's dance school. This activity went on for a while with various songs sung by the teacher herself. Here she is singing "Dance at the Disco Party." One of my favorite things about this video is how Frank throws in a few moves. What a fun weekend!

Where's Santa?

Where is the picture with Henderson and Santa Claus, you ask? I didn't even go there this year. I can barely pry Henderson off of me in a crowd anyway, much less to hand him over to a strange, big, scary man with a beard. Maybe next year?

Hunting Club

This past weekend, we went out to "The Shack" for a hot dog and hamburger lunch. This was Henderson's first time out to his daddy and grandpa's hunting club. Stephen and his brother Parker grew up as a part of this hunting club with their dad and I love that Henderson and his brother (still no name) will get to grow up doing the same thing. I know Stephen, his brother, and dad shared (and still are) some great times together out there at "The Shack." (I kid you not when I tell you this place is a shack. There is no indoor plumbing and there are two scary rooms with bunk beds which you couldn't pay me to sleep on.)

Baby Update

I had an appointment today. It was so much fun to get to see Baby Boy (still no name) again. They checked out the kidney that they were unable to see last time and all was perfect! I could see him so much clearer today and it was really a treat. I really liked the ultrasound tech I had this time and she was so nice to let me have some time to watch him. His little hands were over his head and he was waving them around. So fun. I wish they gave ultrasounds at every visit.

Henderson was sick with a fever on Monday and absolutely pitiful. He just wanted Mommy to hold him all day while he laid his little head down. He whined and moaned and it was so sad. He was still drinking plenty and eating a little so I didn't feel the need to take him to the doctor. (I am so tired of putting him through a doctors visit only for it to be a viral thing that can't be helped). He didn't have any other symptoms - no cough, runny nose, etc. He was drooling a lot and I think maybe his throat hurt. Luckily, he felt much better on Tuesday. Honey was so sweet to keep him so he didn't have to go to daycare. He seems to be pretty much back to normal now. We are dealing with some major mommy clinging/separation anxiety. This is when I start to really worry about him when the new baby comes. I guess all siblings have to deal with it at some point. Prayers please!

Bouncy Seat

A friend's brother, sister-n-law, and baby are coming to visit in Valdosta. She needed to borrow a few baby items so they wouldn't have to bring so much. I got out the bouncy seat and Henderson had a big time! I don't think this is what Fisher Price had in mind...
This could be interesting when the new baby arrives!

In a Flash...

Wondering why I don't post many pictures of Henderson these days? Well to tell you the truth, I can't catch him sitting still. The child is all over the place. All of the pictures that I have on my camera are blurry because he wont stand still for one second. Not to mention, if he sees the camera he runs over to try and take it from me. It is a really good thing that my dad does have a passion for photography, as well as a camera that can catch a speeding bullet (or toddler).

It has been hard to get anything done around my house (except with the help of a furry, little, red monster) because I constantly have to watch Henderson. He has learned many new skills, including opening our back gate (to let himself and the dog out). He can't quite open our doors yet, but Kathy did say he figured out her back door since it has that long handle that you can just push down. Whewww.... life with two is going to be, um, challenging.
