The Case of the Missing Dog...
I met Stephen for lunch today and then went home to let Hendrix out. I was not greeted at the door with the usual "hugs" and sloppy kisses which was a little unusual. I thought maybe I would catch him on the bed, but he wasn't there either. I called him - nothing. I went upstairs to see if somehow the door had been left open and he was there, nope. I started out the back door and noticed it was unlocked (not open, but unlocked). I called to see if Kathy might have picked him up to come and play at her house - she hadn't. I went into panic mode. I called Stephen and had just about convinced myself that someone had stolen him (mind you nothing else had been touched). I went through each room of the house and when I got to the closet...
He had gotten locked in the CLOSET! Somehow he either had followed me in there this morning without me knowing or he went in and the door shut behind him. He obviously freaked out during the 4 hours he was in there. I guess he tried to "dig" his way out?? The poor thing even had a cut on his nose where he had been trying to stick it under the door. Needless to say, we will be replacing the carpet in our closet. Stephen and I ended up really laughing about it. He said he knew nobody would want to steal our dog. I should have known better! HA!

No antlers...yet!
Stephen told me I was being a little too dramatic in my previous post and that everyone needed to know that he would not be gone hunting EVERY weekend. No, this weekend he will be going on Parker's bachelor party.
This past weekend was actually very nice. I certainly enjoyed the fall weather. I was starting to doubt if the temperature down here ever fell below 85 degrees. I was able to go see a really funny play in downtown Valdosta with my mother-in-law Kathy (she is a fellow "hunter's widow") on Friday night. I got a lot of things done around the house too. This weekend, I am heading to West Point to see my family. I miss them so much and am so excited that everyone will be making the trip down here to Valdosta for Thanksgiving!!!

A Hunter's Wife...

For all you hunters' wives out there, I have sympathy. This weekend starts the opening day of deer season in south Georgia. Now that we are here in Valdosta, Stephen will be out in the woods every weekend. As soon as the season dies down here, he heads over to West Point to hunt on my dad's land in Alabama.
Sooooooooo, if anyone wants to get together... I'm free.

Sunday Fishing
Happy 90th B-day!
Stephen's grandmother turned 90 years old today! We spent the weekend celebrating by making a trip to Bainbridge for the Barber family reunion and then to Thomasville on Sunday for church and lunch with Grandmother.

Isn't she the best looking 90 year old you have ever seen???

Stephen's mother's side of the family.

Steamhouse
Stephen and I drove up to Atlanta Friday before the game and stayed with the Lindenbaums. We got to meet up with the Broderick's and Rob! Staci's brother, Jay, was also in town. We went to Steamhouse Lounge which was located in Buckhead, but moved to Midtown due to all of the new construction. I'll have to say that I really like the new place better. If you are in Atlanta, you should really try it out. mmmm.... lobster bisque!
