A Big Day for our Big Boy!

Henderson started his first day of 3 year old preschool today. He is going to our church (Park Avenue United Methodist) this year and will be going five days a week. He said he had a great, fun time today and was excited about going back tomorrow.

A Few From Summer

We're Still Here!

Oh my word, it has been so long since I have posted anything. When I would sit down to update, I just couldn't do it. I seriously start feeling overwhelmed and can't make myself sit and take the time to update. I decided that most of you reading this blog would like SOMETHING rather than NOTHING so I am not going to try and document every little thing that has gone on because I just can't but instead just get a few things on here - so here goes...

My Henderson Howard Lincoln turned THREE years old on July 8th. As with every milestone, it is hard for me to believe how quickly the time flies by. We had a small fire truck themed party for him the weekend following his birthday. We had his class buddies from this past year and a few other close friends. We set up a few fun things in the back yard - very low key and simple. It all turned out so fun. The BEST part was that the awesome guys over at the fire department brought over the fire truck! (Henderson is obsessed with fire trucks and we visit the station frequently). The firemen truly made his birthday party! They spent time showing the kids everything in the truck, letting them sit, turning on the lights, getting out their gear, etc. Henderson was in heaven!

Alrighty folks - that is all for now, but I am hoping if I keep it simple then I will update more often. We had a blast on our vacation with my family and there are some awesome pics my dad took - going to try for that one next:-)

Rambling Summer Post

I'm getting a few pictures posted from my parents' most recent visit. It is always so wonderful to have them in town. Henderson boo-hooed when they left (if that tells you how much fun he has when they are here!) David has been walking all over the place for a while now. He is truly "in to everything". I remember thinking that Henderson was very busy and into everything, but I don't think he holds a candle to David. This child is a bit of a daredevil! You seriously can't turn your back on him for one second. He continues to be a very content, happy kid. He is usually wearing a big smile. He is saying more and more words and I love seeing his little personality bloom.

Although it is a complete circus around our house these days, I love it! I am always completely beat at the end of the day, but I am always so happy to see my boys when they wake up in the morning. I really try to enjoy these days with them (even though some days can be VERY trying) because I realize how quickly time is flying by!

We have been enjoying some great weather here in Valdosta with very low humidity. (If only we could do something about the gnats!) These long days often end up equaling a later bed time (not on purpose), but for some reason my boys can't ever "sleep in".

Henderson starts his "Kids Day Out Summer Camp" at First Methodist tomorrow. He will be there from 9-1 on Tuesday and Thursday while I am working. We have a new baby sitter staying with the boys on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons while I work and she is fantastic. She will be keeping the boys in the afternoons throughout the year for us as well. Kathy continues to keep David for us in the mornings that I work, but come fall we will finally be giving her a break (after THREE years!!!) Both boys will be going to Park Avenue Methodist (our church) in the mornings and will be with the baby sitter in the afternoons. We found out last week that Henderson will be in Miss Jennifer's class. She actually teaches Stephen and my Sunday school class as well. He will be in his buddy Tripp's class and he is very excited about that. I am already nervous about the fact that he will be one of the youngest in the bunch, but I know that is a silly worry.  

We are really looking forward to spending some time with my family next week while we are on vacation! I hope everyone is having a wonderful, safe summer...

Mickey Tales

Mickey Mouse is a big favorite at our house. When David turned 1, he got a Mickey doll for his birthday. Henderson immediately took it over. He slept with it and everything. This started to cause some "issues" so I had to get David a new one. It just makes me wonder how many things I will have to buy two of just to keep the peace?!?!

The Streets are in town and Henderson has loved seeing his buddy Emmett! Here are Tripp, Emmett, and Henderson - buddies, just like their daddies.
