Since it seems I can never update regularly, I decided to give the blogger app a try. I take most pictures with my phone anyway, so maybe I will post more often if I am using my phone?!?

Smarty Pants

When we named Henderson, I had visions of him not being able to spell such a long name until he was much older. I am so proud of him!

Baby Girl!

Kathryn Joyce Huguley "Kate" was born this past Friday. Stephen, the boys, and I were burning up the road between Valdosta and LaGrange to get there in time. She came a little earlier than planned but we made it! It was so wonderful to be there to celebrate with the family. She is absolutely perfect! She weighed 8 lbs and 5 oz. So, so happy for Katrina, Brad, and Frank! I was so sad to have to leave her. There is nothing better than holding a sweet newborn baby (especially when she is your precious niece!!)

I just LOVE the picture below. This is right after Kate was born and my whole family got to walk back to see her. I am reminded of God's miracles when I lay eyes on a newborn for the first time. It truly takes your breath away.

Barnyard Birthday

We had such a great time celebrating David's first birthday this past weekend. We had a small family party. I still wanted to make things very special for our sweet boy so I did have a little barnyard theme going. This was inspired by the fact that he loves the song Old MacDonald and thinks animal sounds are hilarious.

David can stand alone but refuses to take a step. He just dives for me (and knows I will catch him!)

I found the most adorable farm theme balloons on Amazon. They turned out so cute!

I made this fence out of Popsicle sticks. I spray painted them brown and then used my hot glue gun. I got the grass from Wal-Mart (perfect time of year to find the Easter basket grass). The cupcake toppers came from etsy. I did get Publix to do the cupcakes and I told the guy exactly what I was doing with them. They did a great job making "grass" topped cupcakes! The whole thing was so easy (and I am not very crafty).

Publix included a free smash cake since I bought the cupcakes. I love how they put the grass around the perimeter (I didn't even request that!) I stuck the tractor on and it worked great.

David had a wonderful time with his smash cake. It was so much fun. At one point it was like he was playing the drums in it. I love this picture because he had just reached up and gotten Daddy with his icing!

I want to thank everyone who came to the party and we missed those who couldn't be there.
We have a lot of cute pictures from the party so I am going to try and post them on Picasa...maybe. If you are wondering why my dad's awesome photo skills are missing from the party... He unfortunately had to return to West Point before the party to attend a funeral. We missed Granddaddy!

I have to thank Aunt Katrina for making this shirt for David for his birthday! It was perfect for the party!

Happy Birthday to You, David-Doodle-Do!

My sweet, precious, David will turn one year old tomorrow. I simply can not believe it. This has got to be the fastest year of my whole life. Now, if you will stick with me here, I am going to reflect a little...

When I found out I was having a second boy, I think I was truly overwhelmed with a feeling of not knowing how I could love another little boy as much as Henderson. I was scared. I can honestly tell you that from the very moment that I saw my sweet baby, I was smitten. He has completely, one hundred percent, stolen my heart. This child has doubled our joy and brings his own special sunshine into our lives every single day. There is not one single day that I don't look at him and PRAISE the LORD that he gave me this child. I look at David everyday and tell him "I am so thankful that God gave me YOU!"

I am so sad that I no longer have a little baby. David is becoming a toddler and I wish I could just make time stand still. He is very close to walking, he is drinking whole milk, he is about to give up bottles completely, he is saying a few words, and it is almost more than this mommy can handle!

The picture above was taken this past weekend. We had a little family party to celebrate. It was so much fun and a terrific day and weekend (Stephen and I celebrated out 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday). More to come on the party later... In the meantime I am getting ready for a VERY special little boy's first birthday!

Firetrucks in the house

I have good reason for my blogging absence. We have had sickness hit our house. I believe everyone is finally well now. We also had a little episode where our power went out during a storm we had here. When the power came back on our alarm went off for a second. It was about 12 at night. It woke up Henderson and scared him TO DEATH. I went into his room and he kept telling me he wanted to firetrucks to leave the house. He didn't want firetrucks in the house (I guess the alarm sounded just like a firetruck siren). He was terrified to sleep by himself and ended up having to sleep with us that night. We have had problems every night since then (and I think that was about 3 weeks ago). He wakes up every night at different times. One of us has to get him back into his bed. He will show up in our room... It is miserable. I have tried several different things, but nothing is working. I guess it will get better, but I could certainly use some prayers.

David is everywhere now. He is truly into everything. He will be 11 months old in a few days and I just can't stand it. I don't want him to get any older!
