We were so fortunate this year to get to go on another Huguley family vacation to Sea Island. I can't even begin to tell you how special this place is to me. My family grew up going on summer trips there with my mom's parents (Grandmama and Poppa). I have SO MANY wonderful memories with my family at Sea Island. Although it has changed a good bit since the 80's (if you have been to the new Beach Club and Cloister then you know what I am talking about), I still get a special feeling when I get there. I am so thankful that I have gotten to spend time there with my own kids and husband! There is nothing like getting to spend a week with your whole family. We all get to be in the same house and while it can get a little crazy with 5 kids, it is SO MUCH fun.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Henderson came down with an illness while we were there. We got there on a Saturday and he woke up in the very early hours of Monday morning with a fever and cough (which just so happened to be Stephen's birthday). Now all 4 of the Lincoln family was in one room, so that was interesting. Luckily David hardly made a sound and really wasn't the child keeping us up at night. We took Henderson to one of those immediate care places. They gave him some cough medicine and an antibiotic. The doc said it was a sinus infection and the beginnings of bronchitis. Well it turned out that the cough medicine wasn't doing a thing for the poor child. I called my sweet friend Jenny (who just so happens to be the nurse practitioner at my pediatrician's office) who could hear him coughing over the phone. She thought it was croup and called us in some steroids and breathing treatment. That saved us and once we started that, Henderson's cough got much better. I will also mention that trying to get his medicine down him was a nightmare. We had to bribe him with Popsicles the whole time. I swear all he ate for about 3 days was Popsicles. He slowly started to feel better so he was able to have some fun too. Poor little guy.
As most of you know my father is quite the photographer. So much so that there were over 900 pictures taken over the course of the week. There are so many good ones that I don't know where to start. I have used a few in some posts over the past few days. For some reason Blogger is taking forever to upload these photos, so I think I might just post some of the pictures on my Picasa website (which I obviously haven't been using!) Keep checking there and maybe I'll get some posted (link on side bar - "Our pics of the Boys").
