It Ain't Always Pretty

Since our 5 YEAR anniversary is coming up on April 1, I decided that this post was long overdue.

I was thinking about all of the things that mothers go through to conceive, carry, and deliver a baby. As my title clearly explains... it really isn't always pretty. It doesn't always bring out the best in us women. Don't get me wrong, I know that having children is a true miracle and blessing. I adore children and I am so in love with my little boy that sometimes it hurts. Us women obviously do forget about the things we go through and often times eagerly step up to the plate again!

On that note, I simply can't begin to imagine what it must be like to be married to a pregnant woman. Whoa. I have been a hormonal mess (especially this pregnancy). There have been multiple occasions that I have truly expected Stephen to read my mind, gotten upset about the slightest thing, neglected dinner and cleaning, and been totally uncooperative about making any sort of plans. There have been times that I am annoyed and angry and I am not even sure why.

I realize that we women do have a lot to endure when it comes to child baring and rearing. I also know for a fact that I couldn't do any of it without the help of my husband. Now, I am not letting any of you guys of the hook (especially you Stephen Lincoln), but I do want it to be known that God has truly blessed me with such a wonderful husband (and Henderson and Baby with a wonderful Dada). Happy Anniversary to US! (I also want you to remember this in about week 2 of no sleep:)
